Course Requisite Technical Skills
In order to succeed in this online course, you must be comfortable working with technology. At a minimum, you must possess the following technical skills:
- Ability to use the Internet in an effective and efficient manner, including installation and management of browser plug-ins and add-ons.
- Basic knowledge about the operation of a computer, file management, and software installation.
- Working knowledge of the Canvas learning management system.
- Capable of using Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Proficient searching the web for information
- Able to download and print information from websites
- Able to download, view, and/or print PDF files

Attendance Policy
Each student is expected to be active in the course each week. You are required to log into the course site at least three times a week. If I observe that you have not been active during any given week of the course, (this includes discussion participation and assignment submission), you may be dropped from the course.
Proctored Exam Policy
Instructors may modify this policy. This policy is also included in the instructions for each exam. If you make changes here, please be sure to update the exam instructions accordingly.
While taking the exams online, please follow the instructions to maintain academic integrity.
- Use an ID (either a school ID or a government issued ID with your personal information covered)
- Position your webcam to your eyeline or slightly above and align your shoulders to face the webcam.
- Adjust the lighting in your room. Face a light source and avoid backlit areas.
- Choose an isolated room that has little background noise.
- Choose a clean background with minimal clutter.
- Show your face throughout the entire exam.
- You may use a handheld calculator (You are NOT allowed to use the calculator app on your smart device). All other resources or devices, including books, study guides, notes, other websites, or mobile/electronic devices, are NOT allowed.
You may be flagged by the proctor and audited by your instructor if any of the above is not followed, and be required to retake the exam via a live Zoom session or at a testing center. Depending on how serious an infraction was committed, your instructor may give you a failing grade for the exam or for the course. Further, you may be reported for an academic integrity violation, reported to an academic dean, or even referred to the Dean of Students for disciplinary action.
