In order to succeed in this online course, you must be comfortable working with technology. At a minimum, you must possess the following technical skills:

  • Ability to use the Internet in an effective and efficient manner, including installation and management of browser plug-ins and add-ons.
  • Basic knowledge about the operation of a computer, file management, and software installation.
  • Working knowledge of the Canvas learning management system.
  • Ability to proficiently search the web for information
  • Ability to download and print information from websites
  • Ability to download, view, and/or print PDF files

Course Policies

Attendance Policy: 

Attendance and class participation is a graded component of the class. Students are expected to participate in class discussions and activities. Notify the instructor by email if you plan to miss a class. If you miss a class, be sure to keep up with the course syllabus and contact a classmate for detailed information regarding notes and assignments. It is your responsibility to keep up with assignments.  

Zoom Meetings
Attendance and participation in Zoom meetings is required. Students must leave their cameras on the entire class time. Students should take the class from a quiet location. Students may not be driving while in class. Students who cannot abide by these policies must register for the online asynchronous course through NOVA Online. Students who do not keep their cameras on during the course will be considered absent. Students who miss 2 or more classes will fail the class. 

Late Work Policy: 

Late work will no be accepted.

PLEASE ARRIVE TO MEETINGS ON TIME. 

The professor routinely reviews upcoming assignments and expectations in the first few minutes of class. For every class you attend, you will earn points for attendance.
Laptops and phones will be routinely incorporated into instruction.  However, please silence your cell phone during class and step outside if you need to make a call or respond to a text message

 

Grading Turnaround Time:

All completed assignments will be graded no later than seven days from the submission date, and sooner when possible.
